Rusks of exceptional quality, made exclusively with Kytherian olive oil, in a traditional way, and with the purest ingredients, that can form the basis for a healthy Mediterranean diet.<\/p>\n

New store opening in Chora Kythira<\/div>

In 2018 a new store opened in Chora to serve residents and visitors of the southern part of Kythira while all are encouraged to visit Karavas to admire, besides the beauty of the village, the unique bakery – museum of the island.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The bakery produces 1.5 tons of rusks a day and employs about 15 staff members throughout the year. It cooperates with a large supermarket chain and many stores in Greece and abroad. The traditional olive oil rusk of Kythira is widely known and is included in the map of Greek<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

In 2006, a modern bakery unit started operating in an olive mill – museum. All that remains is the purity of the recipes, the enthusiasm for new taste challenges, and the pure and excellent ingredients and production. In less than a year, the production process certified on ISO 22000. At<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The dream becomes a decision for the whole family. To renovate the old olive mill and to create in this area, the most modern bakery on the island. Long before Kythira becomes a tourist attraction.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

In the early 1990s, Giannis Koronaios returned to Kythira from Athens, buying half of a bakery share. The love for this work, his values, and belief in his island turned him into a top baking physiognomy of the island. And that’s how the need to create his own bakery was<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The mill closed in 1964 when the big immigration boom took place, and hundreds of businesses closed on the island. More than half of the population left for major cities and other countries, such as Australia.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The story begins about 85 years ago when Dimitris Koronaios returned from Australia to Kythira and invested, creating a modern olive press in Karavas, Kythira.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t
